All surgeries are by appointment and these can be made in person, by telephone or online — registration required. When booking an appointment our reception staff will need to ask you a few questions so they can direct you to the most appropriate healthcare professional – this may be a GP or Practice Nurse.
We try to book your appointments for the GP of your choice for booked appointments. But it may not be possible to see a preferred GP as they may not hold surgeries every day.

Telephone advice
During surgery the doctor has set aside time to deal with enquiries over the telephone. We will ask you to leave your contact number and enquiry in order for the doctor to call you back during the surgery hours. A triage system is in place
Weekend GP & Nurse Appointments
GP practices in Castle Point and Rochford are now offering pre-booked weekend appointments through a local GP Federation called GP Healthcare Alliance. GP and practice nurse appointments are available from two GP hubs in Rayleigh and Benfleet.
Emergency Appointments
Should you require an emergency appointment please contact the surgery. Please state immediately if it is an emergency.
These appointments are only for patients with illnesses who will be seen the same day. They are not for repeat prescriptions, ongoing appointments or sick notes.
Cancelled Appointments
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
If you are Late
Please attend your appointment on time , if you are late you may not be seen.
Please note appointment times may vary during illness and holidays.
Interpreter
If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and this will be arranged.
Private Medical Examinations
Medical examinations for special purposes such as pre-employment, fitness to travel, elderly drivers, fitness to undertake sports etc, will require longer than a routine appointment.
These examinations do not form part of NHS Services, you will be charged for any such examination. Please check the fee chargeable when you require to arrange any such examination.
Dental Appointments
A GP is not appropriately trained to deal with dental problems. This includes toothaches, abscesses and problems experienced after dental treatment. We cannot provide antibiotics as it is necessary to have a full assessment before prescribing such things.
We would therefore suggest patients register with and attend regularly a dentist who can provide appropriate routine and emergency advice.
For emergency dental treatment outside normal working hours, please ring NHS 111
